The hype train ain’t stopping anytime soon, and Yuna’s at the front carriage riding it all the way with the release of “Pink Youth” in collaboration with Little Simz. The scene drops you in a cyberpunk-esque world, with a an animated Yuna and Little Simz working together to restore colour to a drab black and white world from powers-at-be adamant to retain a monotonous status quo.
In another sense, one could also translate this to a restoration of hope, from a hopeless outlook, as put together by Yuna. “When I was writing ‘Pink Youth’, I wanted to celebrate being a girl,” she explains, “When I was younger, I remember a lot of people didn’t believe in me just because I was girl trying to do something amazing… this song is for all the girls out there, who never got the encouragement & support they deserve.”
Smooth R&B still takes focus as Yuna delivers sultry vocals, coupled with hard hitting bars from Little Simz, empowering women everywhere to keep fighting for their hopes and dreams.
