Forty Licks Ice Cream

The name ‘Forty Licks’ is a retrospective of album by The Rolling Stones. Cheam Tat Wei, the brainchild of Forty Licks Ice Cream, says that he read somewhere that it takes an average of 50 licks to consume an ice cream but he wants his ice cream to be so delectable that you’d only need 40 licks to finish his.

Tat’s ice creams are made by hand in small batches using top quality imported ingredients without any use of additives or preservatives. He recently moved his production out of his home and now creates his magic in a proper central kitchen. Currently, Forty Licks are selling a total of 12 delicious flavours; The Salted Caramel (the bestseller), The Earl Grey, The Thai Tea, The Milk Chocolate with Peanut Butter and various others. Apart from these flavours, Tat occasionally creates a new flavour or two when he does pop up stalls, e.g. bazaars at Publika, and a few exclusive flavours for some restaurants.

His ice creams are currently stocked at Tipsy Brew, The Carpenter’s Daughter and Old School as well as in restaurants; Opus, Cava, Leonardos, Torii and cafes; Rekindle, 8oz and Hotshots, uses Forty Licks’ vanilla/salted caramel for their affogatos.
