Before you pick up a copy and get cracking at this issue, I would just like to take this opportunity to apologize for our tardiness in putting out this issue as it was supposed to be out ages ago. Well there is a perfect reason why we were late on this issue, and it’s simply because it is the DENIM ISSUE! The denim world is a really, really big blue one that not a lot of us in the team have explored before. Because of our lack of knowledge, we had a lot questions to ask, a lot of ground to cover and a lot of research to do.
Although all of us own at least a pair of jeans, but almost all of us (the MASSES team at least) have no idea how they are made, the difference between sanforized or unsanforized jeans, or even the answer to the simple question of why majority of jeans are blue in color? *cough INDIGO cough*.
In all honesty, this issue is our own way of answering our own questions about the denim world. It is, actually, a very selfish endeavor. But instead of being totally selfish about it, we thought it be cool to share our findings with you guys through this issue (we’re such nice people right?). We’ve learned a lot, had many AHA moments and really had a ton of fun putting this issue together. So we hope that every one of you that has picked up a copy experience the same things we did. Enjoy!
