The audience will initially be thrown back in time and experience an ancient traditional dance form from Tamil Nadu, Bharatanatyam – a style frequently emphasizing on skilled hand and facial gestures – all of which based around a girl’s possessive love for Lord Muruga and her reaction when she finds out about his alliance with another woman. Secondly the audience is teleported with the aid of Main Zapin, a popular dance in Johor, Pahang and Selangor. This dance was historically performed exclusively for religious ceremonies but has become a traditional form of entertainment. And finally, after two servings of traditional Asian dance, the audience is presented four exciting takes on contemporary dance – Utopia by James Kan, WiRama by Joseph Gonzales, Alarippu by Umesh Shetty, and Dikir by Raziman Sarbini.
