Batman In Samurai Form, Why Not?

Remember the hotly anticipated Batman Ninja movie, where the Caped Crusader got transported to feudal Japan to finish Joker off? This is about the same, but different.

Singaporean studio XM Studios has come up with a concept that resonates well with fans of remixes. Modern Gotham meets Neo-Tokyo samurai as Batman is donned up in traditional samurai gear, complete with a katana, blending together two universes into a dark and moody setting.

Gorgeous AF.

Royal Selangor then decides to have a go at recreating the model, and its pewter and bonded porcelain counterpart is no less astounding than the original. Every detail of XM’s original design has been painstakingly recreated, with one foot on top of an onigawara atop temple ruins. A formidable look too, as the figure is clad in an elaborate pseudo-steampunk take on samurai armour. Magnetic caps are in place so that Batman’s hands can be interchanged for ones that are grasping batarangs. Formidable.

The pewter finish too finalises his moody aura, a true Dark Knight that sails through the sky in medieval Japan. Collectors better hurry though, as this is limited to 300 pieces worldwide. Pre-orders have already begun, and physical modles will be available at Royal Selangor outlets, authorised dealers and at Royal Selangor’s website. Maybe it’s time to swap the Medicom toy collection for this instead.
