Local indie rock band Butterfingers has been riding the Malaysian soundwaves ever since most millennials were still dependent on the disposable toilets we call diapers. Formed in 1993, they’ve been rocking out hard in the music scene for so long it is inevitable they’d have some great stories to tell. Enter Butterfingers: Untuk Seketika Ku Hilang, a limited edition book that details their story while documenting a time where the “sounds of Malaysia” and rock music was still rich in dramatic value and mystery. It’s a tale that’s being told at the peak of the band’s journey… but we’re not here to discuss the RM60 book.

In conjunction with the launch of the book, a certain Amzar Zulkefli of Custom Derhaka tinkered with a Hot Wheels model car to show his appreciation and respect for the band. A Ford Escort MK2 model was used for this project, and the result is a piece that references the vehicle driven by Butterfingers on their Kabus Ribut music video.

“This custom-made piece was actually done under no collaboration whatsoever. As a fan, I specifically made this to commemorate Butterfingers,” says Amzar, who has done several custom made jobs on Hot Wheels models prior to this.

Butterfingers fans, pray that one day this model will be mass produced so that we can all get our hands on this nostalgic piece.

Here you can watch the actual Ford Escort MK2 in action on Butterfingers’ music video below!
