Malaysian pewter manufacturer Royal Selangor has teamed up with coveted toy manufacturer MEDICOM TOY again to release a Special Edition 400% Golden BE@RBRICK ROYAL SELANGOR.
The Special Edition 400% Golden BE@RBRICK ROYAL SELANGOR is made from nothing else other than pewter, is embellished with Royal Selangor’s signature dimpled texture, enhanced with a radiant gold-toned finish. A cartoon-like bear in anthropomorphic form, MEDICOM TOY’s BE@RBRICK debuted back in 2001 in Tokyo and has acquired international cult status the following years.
The Special Edition 400% Golden BE@RBRICK ROYAL SELANGOR measuring up to 28cm tall comes with an eye-watering price tag of RM4,100. If you think that’s expensive, a 100 people in Japan thinks it’s chump change. The first 100 pieces were sold out on the same day at their flagship retail store MEDICOM TOY Plus at Omotesando Hills luxury mall in Tokyo.
