Vote For Khiddir Representing Malaysia In Vans Asia Custom Culture To Make His Shoe Design A Reality!

Vans Asia gives back to the art community once again. Vans Asia Custom Culture competition is down to the last finalists. The winner of this year’s competition will be granted the opportunity to host a workshop at House Of Vans London, while the winning design Vans Authentic to debut on shelves Asia-wide in 2018!

Meet Khiddir from Kuala Pilah, Malaysia was chosen as one of the finalists. 27 year old Artist and Illustrator who graduated from UiTM specialized in Illustrator. He shifted his passion to painting canvases, he loves illustrator but much prefers traditional art medium.

Progressing into the competition, he teamed up with his mentor Fritilldea on the House Of Vans Asia Tour, to design their Vans Authentic together. Fritilldea is an artist who draws and paints mural around the streets of Kuala Lumpur. The final shoe design created during House Of Vans is now being showcased on Vans official website, public voting and judges panel will determine the final winner. “My design was inspired by how Vans has influenced the people in different parts of Asia. The design portrays show different cultures in Asia, with people from Malaysia, Singapore, China, India & Korea where it focuses on traditional outfits, transportations and architectures with 60s & 70s. Steve Van Doren (flipping burgers) has also been featured, showing what he does best in building real relationships and spreading the influence of Vans throughout Asia. Overall, it shows the authenticity of Asian culture in a pair of “Authentic” shoes with the spirit of Van Doren.”
