Seludup is the latest drama series launched by Astro Malaysia and Mastermind Group Sdn. Bhd. The action and romance drama revolving around illegal activities such as human trafficking and drug dealing that disrupts the safety of the nation. The production is to be filmed in Pengkalan Balak beach in Masjid Tanah, Melaka and is now in the second phase of depictions.
A talent search (#masukdramaseludup ) was held for 11 weeks on Facebook through video submissions, has come to an end, with the announcement of the two winners. Mohd Andika bin Abdul Halim, 25, and Nur Afieqah binti Zulkarnain, 20, hailing from Johor and Kuala Lumpur managed to stand out amongst the rest.
Jehan Miskin, the executive producer and director as well as actor of this 13-episode drama series, said, “The talent search started since the 25th of June this year and has gotten a great response with an estimation of more than 130 video submissions on the series’ Facebook page. The two winners picked were the best amongst all.”
“Based on their characters, I wrote two supporting roles for the two talents. Our purpose is not only to create a difference and also make an impact to the show but also to add more spark to the local entertainment industry,” adds Jehan.
Mohd Andika, a food industry worker, says, “I am very thankful to the panel of judges for picking me and I believe the competition was tight. This is an opportunity that I will use to the fullest to fulfil my dreams of making a career in the entertainment industry.” His joy was shared with Nur Afieqah, a student who discovered her talents in acting. Besides acting in this drama, the winners will also be receiving prizes up to RM15,000.
