Including Contributions From Abdul Rashade And CLVNTVN

Devise has been around for a very long time, with some touting as the true OG of Malaysian streetwear, and with such an extended duration of time in the scene, a legacy is soon born, following the footsteps of the scene as it goes, continuously growing as the years pass.

The ‘Namesake’ collection then, is a homage to that legacy, specifically the logo that shaped Devise since it was trademarked 10 years ago in 2008. The collection gives a bit of a remix to the classic logo, including designs from other artists from the likes of Abdul Rashade and CLVNTVN giving their own take on the design.

2 apparels make up the collection; the t-shirt being the mainstay, but winged by a hoodie. Naturally with all Devise clothing, it comes in all black with Devise printed on the front, as well as a trio of the logo on the back portion of the hoodie. Both prints are done up in matte black for a true, minimalist style.

Clockwise: Namesake Black, Namesake Grey, Deathtone, CLVNTVN, Abdul Rashade

The t-shirts however, come in one extra colour that breaks away from their norm: grey. The standard Devise t-shirt remains pretty much the same, except now ‘Namesake’ is printed below the main text, just three shades lighter than the colour of the t-shirt. Alternately, the Deathtone version mixes up the classic design by recreating the Devise name albeit with tiny skulls. Abdul Rashade on the other hand, has concocted a skeletal reimagination of the logo, imbuing animal skulls and bones that reads out Devise, while CLVNTVN overlays a graffiti of a snake over the logo for added effect.

Price ranges from RM 89 for the t-shirts and RM 189 for the hoodie, and is available now at Devise’s online store.
