Fashion label JTNC, formerly known as Justin Chew Basic, has adopted street culture edginess and attitude in its first collection since the re-branding. Simply titled Collection One, the offering also features a few pieces created in collaboration with BOTANIC Records, an independent music label dedicated to championing and cultivating Southeast Asian music.
This makes JTNC the first ever local fashion label to collaborate with a local music label in an effort to pursue similar interests in promoting peace, unity and creativity. These collaborated wearables provide a subtle download link to local producer Adam Kasturi’s latest EP.
Some of the collection’s offerings bear starkly contrasting and vibrant design elements against the dominantly warm colour palette. The denim pieces are tastefully worn out here and there for a quintessential edgy vibe. Regardless, most pieces possess a hint of class despite being anchored by street culture sensibilities.
