The brand was founded somewhere in 2008 as a skateboard crew that hails from Selayang, Selangor. And like most crews, they like to have something that would identify them as a crew. So they started on a quest to produce DIY t-shirts for themselves. And that was how Mercury Co. started out. Since then they have branched out into different scenes besides skateboarding such as the fixed gear community and music.
The name Mercury.Co was taken from the chemical element that is used in thermometers. The inspiration behind mercury is that it is the only metal that is liquid, and that it will expand when it is heated up. So in relations to the brand, they aim to be what their name is, tough yet flexible, and when things start to get tough and heated up, they will always expand no matter what.
