Like it or not, The North Face is synonymous with street culture especially in the colder regions over in the West, though of course, its roots didn’t start out like that. As anyone may know, the brand is committed to serve the needs of expeditions in the harshest regions of the world.
This has since gradually dripped down to the street, with the existence of the Japan specific Purple Label and numerous collaborations with labels and designers from the likes, of Vans, Sacai, Junya Watanabe, Beams, and most notably, Supreme. With such a range of collabs, the brand seeks to drip its most beloved silhouettes here in the market.
The most recognizable one however, is the 1990 Mountain Jacket GTX II that has been the subject of many an imagination for many of us. A refreshed and more modern take of the 90s original, the jacket is made of waterproof materials and mixed with silk taffeta and brushed tricot drop-lining to achieve a combination of breathability whilst retaining warmth. The VISLON zipper belt is a double-layer windbreaker with snap closure that provides windproof support for outdoor activities.
Other apparels include the 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket, 1995 Retro Denali Jacket, and 1978 Base Camp Duffel; a true American mark, definitely not made for Malaysian weather, but still a flex nonetheless.
The jackets are now available to purchase with the 1990 Mountain Jacket GTX II retailing for RM 1499, only at The North Face’s Sunway Pyramid store.
