Lacking Any T-Shirts Whatsoever

Pestle And Mortar have been around for about 9 odd years now, and closing in on their 10th anniversary as a brand,. have decided to debut their latest collection on the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week runway that promised a step out of their comfort zone, reshaping their image by challenging the perception of what was possible from the brand, and from the looks of it, they’ve delivered it on multiple points.

Split into two seasons dubbed “Monsoon 2019” and “Super Sweaty 2020,” the collection bears no t-shirts whatsoever, instead highlighting plenty of outerwear options, ponchos, bags, and pants.

Monsoon 19 draws its inspiration from the orange life preserver, converting its colour scheme and material grit into apparel that’s ready to encounter the rain wherever you may be.

The collection then transitions to Super Sweaty 2020, encompassing a summery vibe that brings bright colours and plenty of reflective items to suit the Malaysian sun. It’s also where the collection arguably shines, as plenty of never before worked on materials make their brand debut. Windbreakers draped in light refractive materials, individually tie-dyed cargo pants that are dipped separately before being sewn together, and a soft dusk gradient button up shirt and shorts are some of the best looks on the runway, and is a refreshingly original idea from the brand.
