Pestle & Mortar’s “Under The Veil” Highlights Atrocities Against Nature

Pestle & Mortar Clothing‘s Fall 2016 collection – that is set to launch later today – is essentially fashion manifesting as a showcase of how profits and modernization are eroding mother nature. In an attempt to strike concern into the hearts of Malaysians on the atrocities committed against Earth, the pieces from this “Under The Veil” collection serve as illustrations of key issues faced by our ecosystem.

Deforestation is symbolised by swaths of lush, dark green that fades away into monotonous grays, which represents industrialisation. Global warming, on the other hand, is visualised by the heat of orange. The there is the practice of animal harvesting, represented by prints of red that imply the blood we needlessly spill.
