The Hundreds has re-engaged with its California roots in workwear, pop and surf culture in its latest collection for Summer 2016. The collection utilises the brand’s classic silhouettes and outfits them with lighter textiles, such as cotton linen and loop terry. This will be a welcome update to its classic looks considering the warmer shift in the global climate, which is exactly what the brand attempts to address in this collection.

The Summer 2016 “Wilted State” custom pattern, for instance, involves an ensemble of hand-drawn California native plants from holly to lilac, fried egg flowers to black-eyed-susans. The print showcases dying flowers, drawing awareness to the drought’s effect on our agricultural landscape.

The “Coastal” short-sleeve woven is made of cotton linen, and is a lightweight piece that doesn’t absorb excess heat.

Meanwhile, the “Marvin” short-sleeve hoodie and “Pool” shorts are designed to be worn moments after leaving the water with their loop terry fabric construction and lightweight feel.

Another noteworthy mention is the “Slick” T-shirt, made from a loosely knit waffle pique piece allowing for newfound breathability and functionality.

The Hundreds Summer 2016 collection is available in Malaysia only at Major Drop, Goodfellas KL, The Cap City and Showroom KL.
