This is some winter wear we can actually get behind. The designer is Christophe Lemaire, and he has quite the resume. after heading the artistic direction for both Lacoste and Hermès women’s wear, the collection represents a commitment to reinventing the basics as the future of the LifeWear series.

UNIQLO’s Paris R&D Centre becomes the hub of this development, constantly evolving its ideas, including patterns, fabric development, and different sewing techniques. The latest collection follows bright colours reflective of the fall and winter colour palette and designs, fusing timelessness with diverse ideas that has become the symbol of LifeWear.

Brilliant reds and fuchsias dominate the collection as rich and warm accents symbolise the coming of fall. This season’s couture places emphasis on volume through dolman sleeves for women’s fleece blousons and boxy silhouettes for men’s fleece jackets. Women’s apparel exudes confidence without sacrificing comfort, whereas the mens convey relaxation.

They’re not screwing around with the amount of tech fitted into these garments. Coats are fitted with BLOCKTECH, UNIQLO’s version of GORE-TEX, that repels water and is windproof. The material wicks away inside moisture, and are equipped with snap-on hoods, with hem slits that enhance comfort whenever walking or seated. 3D knits this time round employ advanced WHOLEGARMENT tech for a no compromise fit.

The new collection is set to release on Friday, September 14. Ya’ll be copping?
