Their eyes though...
Those eyes though…

2015 is coming to a close but we still have plenty of good movies for you to watch. For the month of November we have a stripper, who returns to his thrusting action days, the notorious N.W.A. and a racy thriller that’s nearly 20 years old since its debut! Movies listed here weren’t screened in local theatres.

We hope you enjoy this list!

1. Magic Mike XXL (2015)

Magic Mike is back for more…em, magic! Set 3 years after the ending of the first film, Mike Lane has retired from stripping and is now running a furniture business. Mike misses his old job though, the feeling and excitement that he used to get from thrusting on stage so he decides to join his friends, the Kings of Tampa, one last time for a… stripper convention. With the prospect of crazy encounters and outrageous hilarity, Mike takes off to once again become Magic Mike.

2. City of God (2002)

Set in the ‘70s and in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the movie is about 2 young adolescents who embark on different paths. Rocket (also the narrator in the film) is an aspiring photographer and is frequently taking photos of drug-related activities in the city with the hopes of working in a newspaper company. Jose on the other hand, wants to become a drug lord and uses Rocket’s photos as a way to increase his notoriety. The film mainly depicts the rise of organized crime in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro through the narration of Rocket and went on to become a television series.

3. DOPE (2015)

High-school student Malcolm along with Diggy and Jib are close friends. Bonding over the 90s hip-hop culture and playing music in their own punk band, the friends find their normal lives interrupted by a chance encounter with a drug dealer. One thing leads to another and before you know it, the drug dealer has secretly stashed drugs in Malcolm’s backpack. A wild chase ensues as the group tries to escape the drug dealers and his cohorts who want their stash back.

4. Straight Outta Compton (2015)

An American biographical film and set in 1988, the movie is about the formation of N.W.A. and it’s disbandment. N.W.A.’s first studio album, with its lyrics and controversial topics, changes the hip-hop music forever but at the same time the group is nearly muddled from the start by dishonest managers, the pressure of fame and discrimination from all sides. Depicting the early rise and talents of legendary artists such Ice Cube and Dre, we watch as they acquire fame, fortune and history as the group that started it all.

5. Wild Things (1998)

Do you remember the days when Denise Richards and Neve Campbell were one of the sexiest sirens in Hollywood? Well here’s a movie to jog your memory. The plot starts with teenager Kelly who accuses Sam, a guidance counselor, of rape. Sam appeals to the lawyer Ken but things get more complicated with the arrival of a second victim, Suzie. Notorious for its sex scenes, Wild Things is a thriller with elements of greed, violence, intrigue and ultimately, multiple backstabbing.
