Welcome to the 4th issue of the MASSESzine, where the theme this time around is all about the ladies. Yes you saw that right. It’s the FEMALE ISSUE! Since most of our readers are usually guys, we thought we should shine the light on some amazing ladies in our local scene for you guys to get to know, go gaga over, drool over, or be inspired by them regardless of your gender.

We caught up with the fast moving, ever hustling, and yet down-to-earth Hunny Madu to pick her brain on what being a modern woman is all about. We also hung out with our sneaker scene’s very own bae, the small petite sized Wonkalucca, or more endearingly known as “Kak Linie” by her close friends to check out her collection of sneakers which is, unlike her size, pretty big. Our personal favorite part about working on this issue is the food section where we visited 3 different mothers, and got them to cook their signature dish for us so that we can share it with the rest of you. Sorry we couldn’t share the food itself because we ate it all. #baek. We also sat down with Rubbabend, a female rapper from our Indian rap scene to give us an idea of her scene, and how it is like to be a female in a male dominated industry.

You can’t deny the facts, and that is majority of our street culture here in Malaysia, be it sneakers, local streetwear fashion, the rap game, skateboarding, the underground rock scene etc., it is pretty much a sausage fest. And that is why we want to highlight these individuals that are radically pushing back  gender stereotypes, changing our views on what a woman should be, and inspiring other ladies to join in on the fun and by doing so inspire more ladies to join in the fun.

We hope you have as much fun reading this issue as much as we had making it.
