“Merayau” is our latest feature to be added to the site where we feature interesting and cool places that the MASSES team have visited. We wanted to use ‘A’ word that will fully describe our visits, we wanted to have a Malaysian ring to it, and we wanted a word that most of us can relate to. If you went to a national school, you will often hear the word shouted out by teachers when they see students roaming around the school during class hours. “Jangan merayau! Balik kelas!”

Well, since we’re out of school and without any classes to attend, we can now merayau anywhere to our hearts content. For our first part of “merayau”, we visited the headquarters of Beautiful Machines, a place where they make….. well, beautiful machines.

Beautiful Machines is a workshop that was started back in 2011 by a bunch of friends who shared a common love for fast, big, loud and sexy looking two wheeled vehicles. We were joined by 2 of the founding members, Pete Singh and Billy Guan during our visit and they told us that they initially started off modifying Harley Davidson motorcycles, and gradually moved on to other makes. In a nut shell, the easiest way to explain what these guys do is that they are the motorcycle version of MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”. Many of their customers send in their stock bikes to be pimped out and coming out of the workshop looking like a totally different bike. Beautiful Machines just recently won an award of  Best Modified Harley Davidson at the not too long ago Art Of Speed festival which happened at Citta Mall. Check out the photos below to get a better look of the Beautiful Machines HQ:-

Beautiful Machines does not have any Instagram account or even a Twitter account, because they are all hipsters like that. But alternatively you can follow Pete ( @peteous ) and Billy ( @guan8495 ) on Instagram, add them up on their Facebook group here and you can also drop by their workshop to consult them on anything motorcycle related at:-
