There is this new coffee joint in the middle of Johor Bahru town that goes by the name Faculty of Caffeine. Owned by two childhood best friends, Edward and Vinc, who have been passionately pouring all of their heart and soul to this project which is motivated solely by their love for coffee, arts and designs. Situated in Jalan Trus, Johor Bahru, this cozy joint houses carefully curated self-designed furniture and arts (yes they paint and whatnot!) done by the team themselves.
What’s so special about F.O.C is that most of their beans are imported directly from selected fine local and regional roasters. Well aside from wide selection of great tasty lattes and espressos, F.O.C offer different types of pastry; from sandwiches to cakes, suitable for those of you who are keen on having brunch all day long. Apart from their lovely food, the spaces inside the café are made use efficiently, with an outdoor section looking directly to the heart of Johor Bahru City, the vibe is absolutely soothing and calm. Aesthetically, this small joint displays an amazing lively atmosphere and arts that are made not only for food lovers but art savvy peeps as well. You should check out the wall behind the bar if you ever drop by the joint, and their self-made paintings as well! Operating for about less than a month now, they open seven days a week from 11 am to 9 pm. Faculty of Caffeine is definitely one of the best hang out places to visit during your trip down south.
