If you’re as crazy about nasi lemak as the average Malaysian food lover, the return of FriedChillies‘ gastronomy event – that promotes our beloved Malay fragrant rice dish – should leave you salivating.
Considered the largest nasi lemak event in the world, I Eat Nasi Lemak is back after a one-year hiatus to charm hungry foodies and people who show high cholesterol levels the middle finger this 5th November 2016!
An overwhelming wealth of nasi lemak action will take place on the day at TM Convention Centre, Bangsar from 9am to 5pm, with 40 carefully selected nasi lemak sellers under one roof! This time however, there are even more nasi lemak veterans hailing from beyond the Klang Valley. With vendors from Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Penang and Perak as well, we’re going to be spoilt for choice when deciding the flavour nuances to experience.
If you’ve ever felt like venturing beyond KL to try out the many kinds of nasi lemaks available but haven’t found the time, take advantage of this event to look out for the out-of-town sellers setting up shop there.
Among these vendors include Nasi Lemak Ujong Pasir from Melaka, nasi lemak ‘sup tauhu’ specialists Nasi Lemak Habib from Batu Pahat, Kulai’s Nasi Lemak Wak Kentut that serve theirs with heavenly fried chicken, and Nasi Lemak Pendekar Mustar from Penang.
Unsurprisingly, the popular nasi lemak eating competition will make a comeback with the ‘sambal terpedas, makan terpantas’ category.
In the spirit of ‘Hari Kantin’, I Eat Nasi Lemak will retain its coupon system for participants to purchase, before trading them in for delicious ‘makan-ables’. So get your stomach ready for an assault of nasi lemaks and delectable lauks this 5th November!
