Normally when you walk into a barbershop, you will be greeted by the smell of incense, not that it’s a bad thing, but it is just how it is. Also the barber that’s gonna be giving you a shave will most probably be donning a sarung and a shirt with the accompaniment of a Tamil or Hindustani song playing at the background.

That is not the case in Joe’s Barbershop. Smooth RnB or HipHop will be in the shop’s airwaves and the smell is filled with freshly baked pizzas from Joe’s Kitchen which is just right next door. The guy that’s gonna give you a hair cut or a shave will most probably have more swag then you. Reppin’ a pair Jordans on his feet, wearing snapbacks and shades while he cuts you up. Your hair I mean.

After you’re done with the chops, take a few steps next door to Joe’s Kitchen for some homemade American food. Pizzas, Mac’n’Cheese and floats are just some of the items that can be found on the menu. Besides the pasta, everything else is freshly made on the spot. Sinful meals, yet very irresistible.

Expect a long queue if you want to get your hair done on the weekends or after working hours, which speaks a lot about the quality of the barber’s cut. Our advice to anyone going there for the first time would be to write your name on the waiting list, and hop next door for a good meal while you wait.
