Something savoury in something sweet. Well, might not be a too bad of an idea because the fact that they are still available in the menu? Here’s our picks on weird ice-creams.
1) Nasi Lemak
First up will have to be this. Nasi Lemak, the nation’s favourite food, but this time not in the form of rice with anchovies and sambal. It’s served as a scoop, cold in a cup. When eat, there is still bits of anchovies and rice. It really is weird but definitely worth a try. Don’t stop at your first lick. Give it a few more spoons and you will start to enjoy it. 2) BBQ Chicken
Bbq chicken is good itself. Bbq chicken pizza is an all-time favourite. Bbq chicken ice-cream? No doubt it’s weird. This ice cream flavour is available at any cafes’ stocking Scoopa Joe’s ice-cream. When opened the lid of the small ice-cream cup, it really does smells like bbq chicken. Take your first spoonful. It won’t be weird until the aftertaste hits you. It’s really very bbq-ish!
3) Kimchi
Not a fan of Korean food? Then you won’t be a fan of this but you might still want to give it a try. Available in the menu at Da On Fine Korean Cuisine at Pavillion, this scoop of ice-cream is not at all cheap. Well considering it’s a fine cuisine restaurant and located at Pavillion, what more can we say? This flavour has got to be the strongest of all. The kimchi scent and taste will leave a tangy feeling on your tongue. Will give it a try?
4) Ice-cream with Beef Bacon
Well this might not really sound that weird but it’s not that common either. Bacon, almost everyone’s favourite can go well with almost everything. But with ice-cream? Why not? This combination of flavours is surprisingly really ridiculously good we must say! You could have guessed how good it was based on our emphasize on it.
