Last weekend we took a short road trip down to Paroi, Seremban for Tempatan Fest 5.0. To be honest, we were not expecting a huge turnout since it was in Paroi, a small town slightly outside of Seremban. But boy were we wrong. It was so packed that finding a carpark was quite a challenge. The venue of the festival was at ‘Kompleks Belia dan Sukan Paroi’, a fully equipped government sports centre that has the facilities for almost every sport available, so you can imagine how big the grounds were. But even with such a spacious venue, it was still packed.
From a short conversation with Seir Rashid, the organizer of Tempatan Fest, a total of 142 local brands participated in this festival and with the power of synergy and social media, their target of 30,000 pax per day was easily surpassed. A rough estimate of 40,000 people showed up per day. Skateboarding competition, local bands performing, local clothing, mind sharing sessions, coupled with some good Malaysian food, it was indeed a Tempatan Festival.
