We all know Cannes is quite a big deal for filmmakers. It’s a stomping ground for the likes to showcase their art in the most visually compelling way and one that credits great esteem to the winners of the competition.

And at the Cannes Lions International Festival Of Creativity that celebrates the best of advertising and creative communications, Nadiah Hamzah has done just that. In collaboration with Leo Burnett, Nadiah has produced an anti-bullying PSA to nail down the point that being a bystander to these events by sharing and liking videos that spread like wildfire online does nothing to help the victim and curb cases of bullying. Especially now, in recent times when cases like the death of the late Zulfarhan Osman was caused by incessant bullying which ultimately led to his unfortunate demise.

Speaking to The Rakyat Post, Nadiah detailed that she wasn’t the only person who directed this; the project was actually realised with the help of two other upcoming directors, Syed Manuh and Emir Ezwan.

The resulting efforts have bagged them a Bronze medal, and if that’s anything to go by, signals that we are more than capable to compete in the international stage. Congratulations to Nadiah and the team for their outstanding acheivement!
