Beatburns, a local alternative indie rock band based in Kuala Lumpur, recently released their latest awareness music video called “Fire“. The song is about throwing out the past, burning the bridge of the past because we are all meant to learn from the past. It also talks about letting go of the burden that someone has and just letting things flow and not be so worried about what is going to happen cause no matter what a person goes through they are not alone.
This song is dedicate to those who they love and to those who have gone through so much in their lives to let them know that they did not go through all the pain in vain. To the band, this has been a really emotional song to record and write. We literally shed tears when we completed the song cause of its emotional weight and meaning to us, especially to Lynd.
The story revolves around breaking the bridge of a troubled past. This time around, it revolves around the social issue of domestic violence where it affects 9% of ever-partnered Malaysian women. No one deserves to be abuse, whether it’s physical or emotional. Hence the band decided to raise a social awareness on this issue and they’re glad to have WOA (Women’s Aid Organization) to be part of this too. The video stars Tony Eusoff as the main character’s abusive father and Alicia Amin (ASNTM Cycle 5) as the main character’s girlfriend.
“We hope that the listeners would appreciate the song as much as we did and we hope that this song would touch their hearts and make them appreciate everyone in their lives more and learn to bury the hatchet of their past in order to move forward and live a positive life”. said Lynd
