Homegrown singer-songwriter Julia Duclos takes her music career to the next level with her debut single, “Further” which was released today.
Julia’s debut single “Further” is inspired by her own personal experience and her desire “to live an honest reality, love without hesitation, and create without restrictions”. The song is about two people who were once in love, grew apart due to distance but eventually learn more about themselves and each other. A message that she would like to convey to her female listeners through her single is that an end of a relationship isn’t the end of everything.
“‘Further’ is really about realising that you don’t have to be dependent on someone else to make yourself feel whole. Sometimes, you really do need that distance to get closer to who you really are. The chorus to this single was inspired by the emotionally stagnant state that I was in this significant other – and so the birth of these lyrics came to be when I felt like we were wasting each other’s time, feeding the contradictions in this relationship.’ – Julia breaking down her heartbreak anthem
