Discovered in early 2015, the Malaysian born and raised artist MAW defines his music as a collision of trap, experimental, alternative and a twist of hip hop. Through his music, we can assure you that MAW has a way to assimilate his trap vibes into odd and strange tracks, in a music teratology kinda way. Besides odd experimental ambience rap and trap music, MAW dabbles in a variety of electronic music as well. As a hype man, MAW has a great vibe and aura that definitely turns up the whole crowd.
This time around MAW has dropped his newest single, “RAM” featuring Simon from S/S. The song is essentially MAW’s output of something negative nestled in his mind, while also hinting at how he dealt with that negativity.
“When I received this beat from Bob Fang (the beat-maker) it hit me in a odd way that ‘woah this is depressing’. I really just felt the beat so I called Simon up telling him I was writing something sad, sent him the demo then we got RAM done a.s.a.p,” says MAW.
“After I got it engineered and out on soundcloud, Dusa (the producer) said he wasn’t feeling it so he thrashed the whole track, and we got a remixed version of RAM, LOL,” MAW adds.
