Some of you may have watched the movie “Pekak” when it hit silver screens nationwide earlier this 1st September. If you did, you would have experienced the surreal and haunting duet by Monoloque and Aisyah Aziz in one of the film’s theme songs, titled “Uda Dan Dara”.
Aisyah Aziz’s soothing vocals in this roughly 4-minute track really adds to the fairy tale ambience… though based from the “Pekak” trailer alone, the film hardly depicts a rainbows and sunshine love story.
The film revolves around a deaf drug pusher named Uda (Zahiril Adzim), who was forced into the business so that he could pay for his impending cochlear implant surgery, which will restore his hearing. He eventually crosses paths with Dara (Sharifah Amani), a troubled schoolgirl who longs to escape from her oppressive father. The two of them soon form an unlikely relationship but find themselves facing many challenges ahead of them.
