Combining avant-garde visuals and influences from the new atlanta trap scene, Stakes presents to us the boys of bastardmalaya (Orang Malaya, their producer – f r s & Bastard *from left to right in the slide above).
A little background on Bastardmalaya: it began with Bastard’s electronic group, Hoaxvision, where they were looking for new artists to join in the musical journey which introduced Bastard to Orang Malaya and f r s. The members clicked instantly with their mutual interest in music such as the English rapper, Skepta and the American rapper, Travis Scott. Based on the interview with Rubyuzi of Stakes, the boys mentioned that they’re still learning and pushing each other into a sound direction youngsters can vibe to other than the cliche topics of money and power that kids listen to on the radio these days.
Music video below for the song “Fever Till 44” is shot and edited by Stakes. It will come as no surprise once you click on the video and identify familiar unconventional visual aesthetics they stick true to.
Also check out the Behind The Scene video of their editorial shoot for the interview, here. Bastardmalaya is only about a month old, but these fellas got energy alright so stay tuned for more. Meanwhile, listen to the tracks they’ve got for us so far below.
