It has been 42 years since his passing, and lets just give it a random throwback to Malaysia’s most treasured pop icon, Tan Sri P.Ramlee a.k.a Puteh Ramlee.
It’s clear that we all know who he is. What he had done. The songs he sang. The movies he acted and placed heavy impacts in our lives. Whenever I take the time to absorb his movies/performances, I had come to a conclusion that.. it is an absolute quality of an artwork. Let’s just take a moment to go down memory lane.
It’s no harm in dedicating what our forefathers of local filmmakers had put effort and imagination into.
I remember laughing hysterically to one scene from Seniman Bujang Lapok. Ramli, Ajis and Sudin were driving their director crazy at an open call audition for their carelessness of forgetting their script and went on improvising with their own lines.
Director: “wei ramli, sapa kau?”
Ramli: “Aku lah King!”
Director: “King apa?”
Ramli: “King Kong!”
Director: “King Kong?! kepala otak kau!”
