Adidas Mixes Retro With A Sprinkle Of Future For The Nite Jogger

Let’s take a step back into 2015, when the NMD hype was just beginning. Adidas told its audience that ‘past informs the future,’ as the NMD combined design cues from three different silhouettes, and deconstructed them to make it as simple as possible, that has resulted in a shoe that we all used to love.

Now, the same concept has been applied to the Nite Jogger, as Adidas plucks its archival 70s model and gives it a fresh update with new technology and Boost. As the name suggests, the Nite Jogger is the brand’s solution for nighttime runners or joggers, who require plenty of visibility in low-light conditions to avoid getting hit by oncoming traffic.

To avoid such mishaps, the Nite Jogger has been giving generous smatterings of 3M material, specifically on the rear three-quarter panel and heel tab. Laces and nylon pieces also get the same treatment to ensure maximum visibility through the night. As the shoe is meant for road use, the outsole has been ribbed and beefed up slightly to cope with the wear and tear or uneven pavements and road. The shoe is kept relatively lightweight with the use of mesh and a little bit of suede on the toebox. A Boost midsole rounds up the silhouette.

Overall, more of an everyday shoe than a closet queen, but with such a nice introduction colour, we’d give this a cop purely for the modernised retro aesthetic of the upper. Or for the flashy pictures that you’ll post on Instagram. The Adidas Nite Jogger drops on Adidas.com for a price of RM 650.

In the meantime, the checks brought Cav Empt on to release their collaborative Air Max 95.
