adidas Originals introduces its newest sneaker, Deerupt, a take on adidas heritage reimagined in a radically new look. Minimalist and bold, the silhouette looks to the archive for its grid design inspiration, while debuting a new profile that remains the essence of adidas.
The silhouette is inspired equally by urban planning, architecture, and natural phenomena, where the Deerupt holds the grid as its central design principle. What was once an adidas running silhouette in the 80s, a key feature on the New York runner and Marathon Training shoe, the grid design is stretched throughout the entire silhouette. When the silhouette is exaggerated in terms of proportions and injected with electric color, the grid is transformed into a bold visual motif. adidas plays with the grid through textures, layers and different perspectives, the collapsible, runner-inspired design that features an ultra-lightweight construction with knit uppers covered in stretchable netting. We may find inside the sneaker, zoned foam pockets molded along the shoe’s interior lining to ensure the highest degree of fit to lock the wearer’s foot into the shoe that creates a supportive compression. The result of such fit is a product with a truly unique benefit, a shoe that conforms to its wearer ensuring ultimate comfort.
Deerupt will be launched on the 22nd of March in the hero colorway Solar Bird, a meld of two iconic adidas tones known as Solar Red and Bluebird with a retail price of RM500. The silhouette will be available at every adidas Originals stores throughout Malaysia and on adidas online.
