This pair is particularly special to MJ and also to his fans. The story of MJ’s success wasn’t much of a fairy tale in the beginning where by he was left off the varsity squad during his sophomore year for being too short. And maybe, because of that fact, MJ’s rise to become the “Greatest Of All Time” is so inspiring. MJ proceeded to work hard to make sure that he would not be left off the squad and he became the star of Emsley A. Laney High School’s Junior Varsity which eventually led to a full scholarship to the University of North Carolina. And the rest was history from there.
This pair does not have much of a difference with the 2000 issue, but there are some minor tweaks to it. The Jumpman on the back end went from blue to black, the “Air Jordan” hit under the tongue saw a color switch and the lacelock piece sports a bit more color this time around. Similar to the 2000 issue, a white leather upper coupled with the mesh window comprise most of the upper side of the shoe. Varsity royal and varisty maize colors mingle on the midsole, tongue and the #23 tagging. The icy sole finishes off the look and keeping it the look similar to the 2000 issue.
The pair is already released and is available at selected Nike and retailer stores nationwide.
