Sustainability is the hottest keyword in fashion at the moment, and Kanye is taking the movement wholeheartedly. In its latest addition to the family, the Yeezy “Clogs” will follow suit and utilise a main ingredient found in the oceans in abundant numbers: algae.

Indeed, The so-called Yeezy Foam Runner will include foam derived from the organism mixed partially with EVA to provide structural integrity to the shoe, whilst progressing the unit towards being a fully recyclable shoe in its coming iterations. Speaking alongside West, famed sneaker designer Steven Smith had this to say, “Eco-concerns are intersecting with what we do, this is just the beginning of the future that Kanye envisioned for us to start working on.”

“We’re going to be farming and going seed to sole,” exclaims Kanye during his explanation that the shoes will be developed in a farm from start to finish, ensuring that efforts to prevent pollution, creation and disposal will be tightly controlled.
