ASICS has just announced three of its most technologically advanced shoes under the META series, namely the METARACER for long distance running, METARISE for volleyball, and the spikeless METASPRINT for top flight sprinters.
The three new shoes debut in a ‘Sunrise Red’ colour scheme as a representation of the athletes’ hope, passion, and dedication and a homage to the city of Tokyo.
ASICS METARACER
As the brand’s flagship long distance running shoe, the METARACER is equipped to assist performance athlete to reach their peak and maintain it for the duration of the run. Stability comes in the form of GUIDESOLE™, infused with a carbon plate to ensure runners have no worry during about balance during their runs. The shoe also has an improved-toe-spring shape that reduces the load on the calf muscle by up to 20% for increased energy efficiency. And Engineered Mesh upper keeps the feet cool during hot and humid weather while supporting the foot. ASICS scientists have discovered that every degree less heat in a running shoe can dramatically improve a runner’s overall well-being.
The midsole comprises of FLYTEFOAM™ technology for maximum impact protection and energy return, while the outsole is constructed out of WET GRIP RUBBER™ SPONGE, ensuring traction is retained even in the wettest conditions.
ASICS METARISE
Higher jumps, fast movement on the break and stability without any power loss, the METARISE is performance at its very best. A combination of FLYTEFOAM™ Propel tech in the midsole with winged midfoot support called RISETRUSS™ technology allows players to give a little bit of height needed for devastating spikes.
ASICS METASPRINT
Spikes are now a thing of the past as the METASPRINT has revolutionised what a sprinting shoe should look like. replacing the traditional metal spikes with a honeycomb carbon fibre outsole, the shoe optimises traction and enhances it, delivering explosive speed with each stride.
The METARACER, METARISE, and METASPRINT are priced at RM 779, RM 899, and RM 1399 respectively and are only available in Japan, but will get a global release in July.
