Always wondered what it would feel like to wear nice sneakers, to fit in with your peers or to stand out from the rest? Time to stop wondering because we’re here to help you out especially if you have a budget. Many people try to participate in the culture but have no idea where to start, so this is where we come in and give you some insights on where to start. Let’s begin!

Vans

If you haven’t noticed, Vans has become a staple in the community where almost every corner you may observe a pair of Old Skools or Slip-On’s. With a price range from RM199 – RM299, it is undeniably difficult to not purchase a pair especially when Vans provides you with a variety of colorways to choose from to match any outfit you have. It doesn’t matter if you are a millennial or a senior citizen, but Vans have your back in terms of style.

Puma

Puma has been stepping up their game these last few years in the lifestyle department with their new silhouettes such as the Thunder Spectra. With brand ambassadors such as Rihanna, The Weeknd, Kylie Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Selena Gomez, Puma is not backing out anytime soon. An easy go-to pair from Puma to match your outfits with reasonable pricing would be Puma Suedes, Puma Clydes, Puma Tsugis and a few others. If you are willing to splurge slightly more, you can purchase the Thunder Spectra at RM629. There may not be much hype around Puma but trust us that these pairs are very underrated and deserve more recognition.

Converse

Converse has always been a staple for decades and we don’t expect its term to end anytime soon. The amount of colorways released by Converse allows anyone to pull off any casual look with ease as they always look good on feet. If you are worried about the price, there isn’t really much issue as they are priced from RM199.90 all the way to RM399.90 which is affordable compared to other brands. If you feel generous towards yourself, a Commes des Garcon (CDG) collaboration with Converse or Tyler, The Creator’s Converse x GOLF Le Fleur is only retailing from RM499 to RM590 which is very reasonable as these pairs are collaborations which usually go for more.

Adidas

Adidas was leading the past few years and overtook Jordan brand as the top two highest-selling brand in the sneaker scene. The past three years, Adidas became the go-to brand for many and we have to admit that Adidas stepped up their game in terms of technology and design. If you are concerned about the recently inflated price tags of Adidas sneakers, fret not as Adidas has great sneakers ranging from RM380 all the way to RM600 that will complement your outfit and assure that you stand out from your peers. The silhouettes include Stan Smiths, Prophere’s, NMD R2’s and even the Adidas Yeezy Powerphase. #3StripesMovement anyone?

Reebok

Reebok has offered more than what you expect out of them. Their price range for their sneakers usually ranges from RM300 and above, but rest assured that their sneakers are built to make you look good. With a reasonable budget of around RM600, you can purchase a pair of Reebok Club C 85, Reebok Workout Plus which many claims to be the inspiration behind Adidas Yeezy Powerphase, the Zoku Runners and more. This brand is definitely underrated but we are here to give it it’s well-deserved recognition.

Nike

Nike has returned to take over the sneaker scene the last few months before 2018 and everyone wants to jump on the #teamSwoosh bandwagon again ever since. Trends change so quickly these days that it’s so difficult to keep up however, we are here to make sure you get your money’s worth. With a budget of RM600, you can choose from a pair of timeless Air Force 1’s, the latest technology in a running silhouette known as Nike Epic React Flyknit, Nike’s newest Air Max silhouette namely the Air Max 270, and more. There is no need to splurge a huge amount of money to look fresh unless you plan to flex at a sneaker event.

After all the suggestions above, you are ready to get out there to get laced up in a pair of sneakers that will break necks (provided you have some sense of style). So, get out there and have fun walking in your brand new shoes.
