14 years ago, Matt Halfill, the founder and publisher of Nice Kicks moved from Fresno, California to Grenada, an Island country in the Caribbean. Matt lived on the beaches of Grand Anse, one of the highest rated beaches in all of the Caribbean and that is the inspiration behind this release.
Each and every aspect of the shoe signifies something taken from Matt’s experience in Grand Anse. The aqua toe on the front of the shoe represents how the low lying water looks like when one enters the water at the beach, while the deeper blue colors represents the deep waters at the bay area. The light grey midsole color resembles the sandy beach of Grand Anse while the white accents on the upper resemble the sails on the boats at the bay. The sole is fitted with a light blue translucent sole which represents the warm water of the Grand Anse beach. The shoe is then finished off with reflective tongue and reflective panels hidden beneath the mesh which signifies the reflection of the sun from the water and the shimmering on the waves.
The shoe will be dropping this coming Saturday, 29th March 2014 at Sole What in limited quantities.
