On March 26, 1987, Nike released the Air Max 1 for the first time, and with that, changed the landscape of sneaker designing and also the sneaker culture itself. This revolutionary pair was designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield himself which is the very first piece of footwear to feature a visible Air window.
To celebrate the special occasion of the release back in 1987, Nike is to commemorate March 26 as “Air Max Day”. Members of the Air Max Family are encouraged to rock their favorite Air Max shoes and proclaim their love for it to the world through social media and also by tagging it with the #AIRMAX hashtag. To also commemorate the day, Nike will be releasing a limited edition Nike Air Max 1 “Air Max Day” which sees is spotting the same colorway as the first Air Max 1 that was released back in 1987. Only difference here is that this pair dons a Volt colored midsole and the “3.26” numbers on the tongue.
These pair will be available at selected Nike retailers like Sole What.
