Comprising Of The Zoom Fly and Vapormax Plus
I don’t think we’ve had any official ‘Be True’ releases here as of yet, having missed out previously on silhouettes such as the Flyknit Racer, Vapormax, and most recently, the Air Max 270, we have finally been blessed with 2 drops, featuring the Zoom Fly and Vapormax Plus.
First off, let’s talk about the Zoom Fly. First thing you’ll notice is that the swoosh on the toe box has been reduced significantly to just a mini-swoosh. Swipe to the heel portion, a pink triangle dominates the lateral portion, while a rainbow flag takes up real estate on the medial side. Colour palette too has been reduced a minimalist state, featuring translucent white with tinges of blue on the toe box and tongue. Pink and blue heel stickers on the left and right respectively finish off the silhouette.
The Vapormax Plus takes a bolder approach to its colouring, featuring a gradient purple/maroon mesh upper dripped from the topside with a gloss black cage and mudguard, finished off with a rainbow coloured Vapormax unit.
You would notice a triangle, prominent on the Zoom Fly SP’s side and on the bottom of the Vapormax Plus’ unit, apparently carrying a hefty meaning behind the simple shape. The triangle was originally used to identify LGBTQ folks back in WWII, and then adopted by the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power for their “Silence=Death” campaign in the 80s.
The Nike Zoom Fly goes for around RM 549 while the Vapormax Plus retails for RM 749. Both silhouettes will be releasing on the 6th of June, 9AM local time. It’s time to be true with your feelings and cop a pair before they sell out.
