The Air Force 1 is acknowledged as one of most authentic street sneakers in the history of sneakers as the silhouette links sports, music, art and more industry altogether. In commemoration of Nike’s Air Force 1 35th Anniversary, Nike presents the AF100 collection consisting of five pairs designed by great visionaries. Nike collaborates with Travi$ Scott, Virgil Abloh, Acronym, Don C and Kareem “Biggs” Burke to recreate the 1982 silhouette in their own eyes while emphasizing a significant representation of their era and to introduce new concepts.
Caught by surprise, Nike Malaysia is releasing the first Air Force 1 from the AF100 collection by Don C. The idea behind Don C’s collaboration with Nike for the AF100 collection stems from combining elements of the Air Force 2 and Air Force 3, using premium materials representing the importance of family. Here’s what Don C has to say about his design representing family:
‘We’re talking about the Air Force 1. It’s the OG, the grandfather, the one that started it all. I always feel you have to be down with your family, because that’s who is going to be there for you. Family doesn’t always mean blood, but you have to keep them close and respect the ones that are looking out for you. I just wanted to pay respect to this iconic silhouette, and make sure kids really appreciate what it means to stick with your family.‘
