You Wait For One, Then Two Come At Once

Previously, PUMA has teased its RS-0 Sonic collaboration at a pop-up in Berlin back in March, detailing the final product, but no dates were given as to when it will drop. We now have a confirmed date, and it releases on the 5th of June, worldwide.

Two editions of the RS-0 are scheduled to drop, one as we all know as the Sonic edition, and another not really seen: The Dr. Eggman sneakers.

Sonic’s rendition takes cues from the character himself, with the upper cladded from textured suede, mimicking the feel of Sonic’s blue fur and highlighted with a red outsole, symbolising his shoes. Level details are also present alongside the lateral and heel portion of the shoe, from the embroidered rings, to the checkerboard medial support and the 16-bit grass print on the heel.

Dr. Eggman’s colourway takes inspiration directly from the character himself and his mobile, ever present with an all red upper adorned with black and yellow caution stripes taken from his Eggmobile. Pebbled patent leather with microventilation perforations makes up the upper, coupled with a debossed PUMA formstrip and a Dr. Eggman head. His face and fireballs are debossed on the medial heel, while the gold rings are inserted into the lace. Footbed too features black and yellow caution stripes, and a metallic outsole takes cues from his scientific machinery. Both sneakers are packed in a special box inspired by the iconic Green Hill Zone.

A classic reboot following up with a classic series, reimagined into a future retro silhouette. The PUMA X SEGA RS-0 Sonic and Dr. Eggman will be available at PUMA Sunway Pyramid, Crossover, and Sole What, retailing for a price of RM 610 on the 5th of June.
