For A Tribe Called Quest fans, you’ll be pleased to hear that Vans has united with iconic hip-hop collective, A Tribe Called Quest and Sony Music’s The Thread Shop, to drop an exclusive footwear collection paying homage to A Tribe Called Quest’s contributions to art, music, cultural influence since the 90s. The collection memorializes their iconic album artwork and song lyrics in a range of Vans classic silhouettes including the Slip-On, Authentic and Era illustrating the group’s most favorite milestones of their career.
Each of the footwear designs covers the band’s legendary discography. The Slip-On style highlights the cover artwork from A Tribe Called Quest’s 2016 album, embroidered We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. The Era features an all-over graphic print of album covers spanning from 1990 to 2016. The Authentic honors the life of the late Phife Dawg, who passed away in 2015.
