At the end of the road lies a paradise undiscovered and not known by many. A land of sand dune surrounded by a lagoon, an island and the ocean is surreal but in God’s creation we trust. Never dismay the beauty of earth as we have not seen the most beautiful sight in our lifetime yet.
On a recent road trip across the east coast of Malaysia with TRCRC, we had to find secure ground for the night. As we drove toward the sunset, we arrived in Pantai Penarik in Terengganu, Malaysia. The streets were lined up with towering coconut trees and the sea breeze was refreshing. It took us 4 hours to arrive at the destination from the city of Kuala Terengganu. We continued onward, hoping to pick out a perfect spot for the night, and we kept driving deeper and deeper into the beach. The further we got into the unknown, we could tell that the place hasn’t been visited much because of the overgrown trees and natural formation of wild grass all around.
As we arrived toward an inclining pathway, we drove up and beyond our imagination there was a beach, island and lagoon. It was insane how beautiful and magnificent the view was that evening. I will never forget the feeling of discovering a land that provides such intense and high emotion in life. We got out from the car, and started running frantically to the beach because we were outraged and crazy. The landscape does the work by itself and all we do is to witness it and share it to the world.
We immediately set up our camping site before the sky turns dark and got ready the fireplace to stay warm at night. The breeze was strong yet gentle and it was an indescribable feeling, sitting under the cluster of stars lit so brightly that no other source of light was needed. Being on the road really changes your perspective of life. It broadens your view on culture, art and you as an individual- your thoughts, personality and values. One cannot plan for the unexpected. As the sunrise approaches, we packed up and got ready to explore our next destination.
