Fuckboys. Love em, hate em, they will always be just there, for the fun, and disappear when times get hard, and local indierock outfit Jetcetera wants to highlight this in their latest single, “Damn Johnny.”
It is a rollicking fun tune, and for the young hearts, a precursor for what is to come in their relationship. With sombre vocals offering an introspective of a longing yet non-potential romantic interest towards a socialite, it takes a turn for the dumps as the romantic interest feigns interest and leaves. As defined by Jetcetera, Johnny (noun); an all-consuming temporary high whose affection & intimacy you crave no matter the time and place.
Upon the band’s common ground in the love for Alvvays, this track most definitely vibes the same. “Damn Johnny” is out now on all digital platforms
