Air Max Day has just passed and if there is one thing that we realized what was on most people’s feet was the Nike Air Max 97 ‘Silver Bullet’ which clearly indicates that the Silver Bullet colorway is the people’s favourite. Nike is releasing the Nike Air VaporMax 97, a silhouette that combines the Air Max 97 upper and Vapormax sole unit, in the Silver Bullet colorway. We may observe the uppers being given the OG color scheme treatment of Metallic Silver with hits of Varsity Red and White throughout the upper. Black accents are used for the sock lining and a clear VaporMax sole is used to execute and complete the Silver Bullet colorway for the silhouette.

Game-Time For Jordanheads This Weekend For The Air Jordan 1 ‘Game Royal’

Just when you thought Wotherspoon 97/1’s and Tinker 3’s were big enough of a problem for this weekend’s release, Nike decides to release the Air Jordan 1 Retro ‘Game Royal’ together, on the same day, same time. One of the reasons why there is hype behind this shoe is due to its high similarity in terms of colorway to the highly sought after Fragment 1’s. The shoe is built with a leather upper dressed in a Game Royal, Summit White and Black color scheme. The color blocking very closely resembles the Air Jordan 1 Retro ‘Chicago’ where the only difference is that the Red hits are replaced with Royal accents. Nike Air branding is observed to be present on the tongues, while the midsole and outsole come in a White and Game Royal combination.

“Following the blueprint set on the classic Chicago colorway of the Air Jordan 1, this makeup complements the Game Royal and white dominated upper with black details, including the tongue, sock liner, Swoosh and Wings logo.” – Jordan Brand

The Air Jordan 1 Retro ‘Game Royal’ will be available on Nike and at selected local basketball stores this Saturday, the 24th of March. If you are planning to purchase these, expect to spend RM629 and maybe more if you were planning to buy the Wotherspoon 97/1’s and Tinker 3’s.

Skateboarders Rejoice! MESA Is Aiming To Boost The Skateboarding Scene For Asian Games and Olympics 2020

Malaysia Extreme Sports Association (MESA) is eager to step up its efforts to promote and encourage youth participation in extreme sports especially in skateboarding. MESA president, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Darshan Singh Gill said the association encourages the development of extreme sports with more emphasis on skateboarding as the sport has been included in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia and the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

“We will be conducting various events and programmes in the near future to attract youths to develop an interest in extreme sports, especially in skateboarding which has garnered a lot of attention the past few years,” said Darshan. He also said, “For now, I am confident with the talented skateboarders we have. With the guidance and training of MESA coach Mohd Zamri Ramli, the athletes can improve their skills. I am also certain that in the near future they will be competing at the highest level, and eventually, win medals for Malaysia in major competitions.”

For starters, MESA collaborates with a few popular extreme sports’ brands to bring highly acclaimed international skateboarders into Malaysia with hopes to boost the sport in the country. According to Darshan, these superstars of extreme sports will definitely provide skateboarding star treatment while in Malaysia.

Darshan said: “We will be organising an event called the Angka Tour 2018 which will involve some of the world’s best skateboarders like  Arto Saari, Thrasher magazine’s Skater of The Year for 2001. Apart from Arto, others who will be joining the Angka Tour 2018 are Jack Curtin, Davis Torgeson, Tom Karangelov, Jasper Dohrs, and Margie Didal. We hope that by seeing these stars in action, it will attract more interest from our local youths to pick up the sport seriously. Some of these stars are to skateboarding as what Cristiano Ronaldo is to football. They will tour the country during the Angka Tour 2018 and I very much hope our athletes will benefit from the experience gained and in turn promote skateboarding among the local youngsters.”

The Angka Tour 2018 will be held from the 23rd till 25th March 2018 and will take place at multiple skate parks in Klang Valley such as Mont Kiara Park, Shah Alam Park, and PJ Arena before moving to Ipoh. The tour will be concluded at Dataran DBKL. Apart from skateboarding, MESA has also vowed to improve the quality of other extreme sports such as BMX Stunt and Aggressive Inline Skating through its development plans and programmes which have been strategically scheduled from time to time.
