Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 998 (Made in USA) “City Never Sleeps”

The Made in USA 998 sneaker was redesigned for the first time, inspired by what’s revolves around Fieg’s upbringing in New York City. This 998 featured Fieg’s iconic tri-blocking with different tones and material executions.
The white reflective N logos account to NYC’s endless stream of bright lights, midnight navy nubuck featured on the saddle and solid black pigskin suede on the heel counter. Siting on top of white midsole, it completed by additional details like premium leather lining, custom-printed insoles and debossed tongue.

“The idea of City Never Sleeps,” explains Fieg, “is that even in the middle of the night, New York is still bright as day because of its city’s bright lights. This constant cycle of endless days is a major factor for the New Yorker’s mentality. People hustle harder here than anywhere else, but our reward is being able to live in arguably the greatest city in the world.”

It is no doubt that the football world is mostly a male dominated arena, but as of late, and with the help of the USA Womens Soccer team winning the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup back in July 2015 that was heavily publicised, the football world has been more open about having more females take part in the sport. Building up to the success stories of the global features of women’s football, the women’s game has been getting some attention in this part of the world too.

The million dollar question here is that are we willing to embrace female athletes in this country? Did anyone ever told you that you can’t succeed in the women’s game?

Oh yea, plenty but I normally ignore them.. I believe one day we (Women’s game) will get there, we have to start somewhere innit..

What went through your head putting on the Malaysia kit? Is that your childhood dream?

My dream always been to represent the National team, it doesn’t matter which sports. I used to played football, netball, rugby, etc.. At that time, I’m just hoping that I made it the national team in any of those sports.

With all the effort, I managed to represent the country for football, futsal and surprise rugby too hahha..
