Well the title says it all. As we are all gonna be real busy with events and festivals this weekend in the Klang Valley, our brothers and sisters in Johor Bahru are also gearing up for a really busy weekend too. Dubbed to be the biggest urban and streetwear event in JB ever, Street Pick is definitely the place to be this coming weekend if you’re down South.
The military uniform inspired streetwear brand, Nerd Unit, will be representing the local brands at this event, so head on down and show your support!
Devise has come along way. 10 years in the local streetwear scene and still going strong. Tomorrow, another milestone will be added to their list of achievements which is the launching of Depot by Devise, which was initially just an online store that sells Devise and other local brands. Being a brand that is very much rooted in the local BMX culture, the store will be sharing a space with The Curb, a BMX specialty store.
The store is located at TTDI and the launch party kicks off at 8pm till late. Pop by if you’re in the area.
PS: Devise will be launching their latest collection, “In The Blood” during the store launching. Don’t sleep on it.
Christmas is just around the corner, which is a season of giving, receiving, merry-ing, and of course, a time where most brands release their Fall / Winter or Holiday Collection. Also another event to add to your personal events roster for this weekend is the second installment of Propaganda Fest at Rasta TTDI which will be happening this coming Saturday and Sunday. More than 50 stalls with a mixture of local brands, male and female fashion brands and also food stalls. So you guys better start planning your weekend, because we think its gonna be a real busy weekend of shopping.
An experimental local brand, Borgata Levata from Subang Jaya was established in September 2013. The name “Borgata” was originally the Italian term for a suburban township that was under the mafia control, adopted by the American mafia to mean family. The Borgata labels themselves as independent, parallel to the meaning for the word itself. Borgata Levata ( @borgata_levata ) offers a collection of 4 different t-shirts, a collection that involves minimal color choices, with a minimalistic design but with more attention paid to details on the designs.
Expect to see more of this new brand as they will be looking to make their presence felt at upcoming local streetwear events. But in the meantime, we have included more pictures of the brand’s earlier releases for your viewing pleasure.

It has been quite a wait, but after much anticipation, MONARCHII has released their Holiday ’13 collection. The collection features 10 pieces that consist of t-shirts, tank tops, snapbacks and camp caps. A few items stand out for this collection like the full printed tiger camo t-shirts and tanks, the use of Japanese “Sevenberry” polka dot fabrics that can be found on various pieces from the collection, and of course our personal favorite, the “CAY EL” t-shirt. Good pronunciation is required to get what the meaning of the t-shirt is. And pronouncing it out loud also helps a lot. Trust us, we’ve been there.
