Time To Update That New Year Resolution

The Vaporfly 4% is not a gimmick. We all know this, as world class marathon runners have endorsed the shoe and won major titles with the silhouette, to a point where HighSnobiety claims that the shoe is just too overpowered for its own good. Which it is. We can safely bet you there is nothing else in the world of shoes that feels remotely close to this one, and that’s high praise.

The very same model in fact, as Eliud Kipchoge’s record winning shoe at the Berlin Marathon, only now in different shade of ‘Royal Blue.’ The carbon fibre plate, Zoom X foam, and Flyknit upper are all present and accounted for. All you have to do, is take the first step, and run.

The Nike Vaporfly 4% Flyknit is available at Nike.com tomorrow on the first of January, 2019. Expect a retail of around RM1000, and nothing less for one of the best consumer running shoes that you can buy today. Do you need it? Maybe not. Unless you’re a marathon runner in training, it’s quite overkill, but do you want it? Hell yeah. For the amount of technology that’s packed inside, it’s worth it.

Virgil Abloh Discontinues ‘The Ten’ Series With Nike

It was all everyone else could talk about end of last year, and pretty much this year, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. After the original line of The Ten, and 15 more spin-offs from The Ten, Virgil has finally closed the chapter on the collaboration in an Instagram story post.

 

Depending on who you ask, this could both be a good thing and a bad thing, in the sense that there won’t be as much brash Off-White X Nike shoes as fashion and the trend will focus its eye somewhere else, but it also means the end of one of sneakers’ most prominent era. Regardless of your stance on the brand, the collaboration has without a doubt made its mark in history, became the catalyst for other brands to push bolder branding, and makes itself known in the industry like a dot that can’t be scrubbed off of a white cloth.

So what’s next for Virgil? Given his now well-known cryptic nature, we can`t say for sure that the collaboration will end. There have been some talks that the next round of partnerships will not be Off-White X Nike, but Virgil X Nike, an evolution that has some pretty big shoes to fill. Who knows? All we can do is sit and wait for what 2019 has in store for the rest of us.

The Best Nike Release For Ladies This Year? Swarovski Collaborates With Nike For The Hypebaes

Back in September 2017, Nike collaborated with Swarovski to release two pairs of Air Max 97 which is currently deemed one of the most elegant Air Max ever created. This year, Nike teams up with Swarovski once again to complete the ‘bullet pack’ and will be releasing another Swarovski x Nike Air Max 97 using the ‘Gold Bullet’ color scheme. The uppers feature a familiar gold upper with red accents, a gold air unit, and of course a sparkling look for the uppers using Swarovski’s special fabric made of thousands of crystals.

This could be the best or one of the best releases for ladies this year. If you are keen to cop a pair, the Swarovski x Nike Air Max 97 ‘Gold Bullet’ will be releasing tomorrow on the 27th of December, at 9 am in the morning. We are yet to find out the retail price for this pair but based on the previous retail price for the Swarovski ‘Silver Bullet’ at $400, we are expecting a similar price tag.

Vans welcomes then, the arrival of Fikri Fauzi, and Koya Miayasaka, two new groundbreaking talent in the world of skateboarding to the official Vans teams, as they showcase their abilities in the video above.

Fikri has been skating for sometime, and after coming in fifth at SKATE4ACAUSE, it was clear that his abilities can be honed into a sharper knife. Fikri also bagged best trick at Temerloh Skate Jantan Warrior 2017 after performing the Big Spin Frontside Boardslide. The same can be said for Koya, as he’s spent years honing his tricks and attempting bigger, more daring stunts in public places, all in a bid to vying for a spot at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Check the video above to witness their abilities.

With that said, skate will never die, as long as people like these hold the torch to keep the flame alive for other budding skaters out there.
